Is there a potential where the future 3D printers could also print or create food as well? If yes, it will be damn useful for the astronauts and cosmonauts in outer space or on the deserted planet such as Mars where there is very limited supply and choice of food. Hence, recently NASA has funded a research to create a 3D printer that can create or replicate food or desserts.
The grant worth USD125,000 is awarded to Systems and Materials Research where they need to come up with a solution to produce the food from the powder where the food will have the same texture, structure and smell as the original one. Yup,the Star Trek imaginative technology will soon become a reality.

For a start, an engineer at SMRC has managed to use the 3D printer to print the chocolate for his wife. So sweet, rite? So, the next step, they will try to print out the pizza since it is made up of layers where it is using the same principle in 3D printing technology.
